Vestibulodynia

Vestibulodynia is chronic pain localized in the vestibule, the area at the entrance of the vagina. When it is triggered by contact or pressure, for example during penetration, inserting a tampon, or an examination, it is called provoked vestibulodynia. It is a common cause of pain during intercourse, often underdiagnosed, that deserves careful listening and appropriate support rather than being minimized.
