Perimenopause

Perimenopause is the transition period that precedes menopause and can last several years. Hormone levels fluctuate during this time, which can lead to irregular cycles, hot flashes, sleep disturbances, changes in mood or desire, and sometimes vaginal dryness. Menopause is only officially confirmed after twelve consecutive months without a period. This stage affects each person differently and does not signal the end of sexual life, which can instead evolve and reinvent itself. Understanding how it works helps you move through this transition more calmly.
